Terror charge for firearms accused

A 38-year-old man arrested in the Omagh area yesterday is due to be charged with terrorism offences today.

He is expected to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court charged with having firearms — namely three shotguns and a sub-machine gun, as well as ammunition and explosives.

He is also charged with having information likely to be of use to terrorists.

The charges are not believed to be connected with the investigation into the killing of PSNI officer Ronan Kerr.
