Thieves steal £17,500 from ATM machine in Newry

Thieves have stolen around £17,500 from an ATM machine after breaking into a Costcutters in Newry.

The suspects cut holes in the roof of the shop in Mayobridge and smashed open the ATM before fleeing.

It happened on Thursday morning between 3am and 4am.

Police in Newry have said the suspects cut electric wires on the street, knocking out the lights, before ripping out the CCTV in the store.
