Thieves steal film from missing man's home

By Chris Kilpatrick

Thieves broke into the home of a missing father-of-three and stole a camcorder with video footage of him enjoying Christmas with his family just before he disappeared.

Samuel Campbell, from Kells near Ballymena, has not been seen since he headed off on a New Year's Day cycle more than two years ago. Unable to live in their home without her husband, Mr Campbell's wife Laverne moved to another property in the town.

She was devastated to discover the vacant house was targeted by thieves last weekend.

The images on the camera were described as being "irreplaceable" to the family.

Mr Campbell left with just his cycling gear, leaving his mobile phone, wallet and bank cards at home. His bike was found days later at Glenarm and his whereabouts remain a mystery.
