Thieves take two cars and motorbike during spate of break-ins

By Joanne Sweeney

Two cars and a motorbike were stolen on the same day in a spate of break-ins and thefts in the Glengormley area.

The weekend crime spree started when a resident at Colinbridge Drive reported to police that his white Citroen AX Jive car had been stolen overnight.

It was later discovered in west Belfast by police.

A blue Renault Megane was also stolen from a house in Hollybrook Heights.

Police then received a report shortly afterwards that a Vauxhall Corsa car in the Mayfield area had been broken into and a set of keys taken.

A white Seat Leon in the Blackrock area had been damaged when it was broken into and a pair of designer sunglasses taken.

Then a resident also reported that a BMW X5 had been broken into and a laptop stolen.

By noon last Saturday, another resident of Colinbrook Drive reported that his modified black Honda NTV 650 motorbike with twin chrome exhausts had been stolen.

Police in Newtownabbey are investigating if the crimes are linked. They are appealing for witnesses to come forward if they noticed any suspicious activity in these areas in the early hours of November 9 and to ring the non-emergency number 101.
