Two men and a woman have been tied up and attacked by a gang of masked men who broke into a house in south Belfast.

The robbers were armed with a gun and a knife and were wearing dark clothing.

It happened on Jubilee Road between 7pm and 9pm on Saturday.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "A laptop computer and a small sum of money were reported to have been taken by the men.

"One of the male occupants was struck on the head during the incident, but was not seriously injured."

Meanwhile, a woman and her child in north Belfast escaped without injury when two gunmen forced their way in to their house on Sunday night.

It happened in Manor Street, off the Cliftonville Road, at around 9.15pm.

Police said the men checked all the rooms in the house before making off in the direction of Harcourt Drive.
