Three arrested over fatal stabbing

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man during a stabbing incident in Belfast last night.

The victim, 21, was attacked at Castlereagh Place, according to PSNI detective chief inspector Alan Dickson.

He said: "Two men aged 21 and 25 and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently assisting police with their inquiries."

DUP MLA Robin Newton said: "There can be no justifiable reason for the taking of a young man's life. This awful incident will cause agonising heartache for family and friends."

He said the carrying of knives was a worrying trend.

"As the police investigate this murder they will need the support of anyone who has even a small piece of information about this terrible confrontation."
