Three arrests after serious assault in south Belfast

Three men have been arrested following a serious assault in south Belfast.

A 33-year-old man was stabbed in Dunluce Avenue at around 6.30am on Thursday morning.

The road was closed to traffic but has since reopened.

All three have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently assisting police with enquiries.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and his condition is being described as serious but stable.

Detective Inspector Mary White is appealing to anyone who was in the area around 6.30 am this morning noticed any suspicious activity or witnessed the incident to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non emergency  number 101 or alternatively contact crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

Diversions have been put in place and pedestrian access will be permitted to Dunluce Health Centre.
