Three held over armed raids bid

Three men are being questioned over two attempted armed robberies in Co Tyrone.

Shortly before 2.45pm a man entered a shop on Mountjoy Road, Dungannon, carrying a firearm. He stood in the shop for a few moments before leaving.

The PSNI said within 15 minutes a man carrying a gun entered a service station on the Annagher Road, Coalisland, and threatened staff.

Nothing was taken in either incident.

A spokesman said three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

Detectives in Dungannon have appealed for information.
