Three held over Craigavon murders

By David Young

Detectives investigating the murders of a husband and wife in Co Armagh have taken three men in for questioning.

They are being quizzed about the shootings of suspected drug dealers Hugh and Jacqueline McGeough in their Craigavon home last March.

One of the suspects, aged 18, was arrested in the Craigavon area while the other two - aged 31 and 46 - were transferred into police custody from prison following a court application.

They are being questioned at Ardmore police station in Newry.

Police have also renewed their appeal for information about the murders of the couple who were found shot in their home at Legahory Court.

The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Harkness, said: "Our inquiries lead us to believe there are people who have information about these murders or who know who was involved. I would ask those people to contact our special incident room."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 028 38 366 366 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
