Three men have been arrested in connection with a gun attack on a family home.

A couple and their three young children escaped injury when shots were fired at a house in Velsheda Court in north Belfast last month.

The suspects, aged 31, 33, and 41 were arrested during searches of four properties across north and west Belfast earlier today.

Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) serious crime branch said: "The suspects are being interviewed at Antrim police station about a gun attack at a house in Velsheda Court on September 3 in which a young family escaped injury."

Gunmen fired a number of shots through the front door of the property narrowly missing the occupant.

They also smashed the windscreen of a car parked at the house before fleeing the scene.

Mr Geddes said police inquiries were continuing and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
