Three men to face trial over £200k drugs seizure

Three men accused of being involved in a drugs haul worth in the region of £200,000 have been returned for trial.

Appearing in the dock together at North Antrim Magistrates Court yesterday were Mark Dunford (38) of Ballylagan Lane in Coleraine, 26-year-old Steve Richard McBride of Foundry Court, Coleraine, and Robert Alexander Holmes (38) of Glenone Villas, Portglenone.

The trio are charged in connection with a haul of class A and B drugs including speed, cocaine and ecstasy in the Ballymena and Coleraine areas on September 28, 2012.

At the time of the seizure, PSNI officers estimated that the drugs had a street value of over £200,000.

During a preliminary enquiry yesterday, District Judge Liam McNally ruled that there was sufficient evidence to return the three men for trial on a separate date.

They were released on continuing bail to appear again before Antrim Crown Court on February 24.
