Two tills were stolen during an armed robbery at a bar in Co Londonderry.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the report at a commercial premises on Anderson Avenue, Limavady on Tuesday.

At approximately 11.40pm police received a report that two men, aged in their early 20's, had entered the premises and threatened a female member of staff with what is believed to be a metal bar.

The men proceeded to damage a window before leaning over the counter and grabbing two cash tills and making off.

The tills were found a short time later in an alleyway near Greystone Road, Limavady.

The member of staff was not injured, however she was left very badly shaken.

Detective Sergeant Molloy would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who has information that could assist police with their enquiries to contact detectives at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1662 18/12/18.
