Treasure trove goes on show at Ulster Museum
A touring exhibition has opened at the Ulster Museum entitled Hoards: The Hidden History Of Ancient Britain And Ireland. It's National Museums NI's first exhibition of the year.
The showcase from the British Museum and Salisbury Museum uncovers the stories behind the headlines of buried treasure, focusing on prehistoric, Roman and later hoards.
The exhibition also includes objects from National Museums NI's own hoards collection including two magnificent Roman rings from Murlough, Co Down, on display for the first time.
The substantial collection also boasts two spectacular Iron Age gold torcs from Ipswich.
The exhibition runs until March 31.
