Trial date fixed for Derry crossbow attack accused Forbes

By George Jackson

A man is to go on trial charged with a crossbow attack in Londonderry earlier this year.

Brian Gerald Forbes from Glenanne in the Brandywell yesterday pleaded not guilty to attempted murder on January 3.

The 49-year-old was charged after a crossbow attack on a house in Glendara.

He also denied possessing a compound crossbow, arrows and an axe with intent to commit murder. He further pleaded not guilty to causing criminal damage to the injured party's front door and window and threatening to kill him.

The trial at the Crown Court in Derry was fixed for January 29. The defendant was remanded in continuing custody.
