Tributes paid to Larne road crash victim

The funeral of a Carrickfergus woman who died following a collision in Larne town centre will take place tomorrow.

The service will be held at the Belfast Road home of Margaret Ann Sempey at 9.30am.

Interment will take place afterwards at Victoria Cemetery in Carrickfergus.

Mrs Sempey, who was in her 50s, was involved in an accident in Larne on Tuesday. She died later that evening. Nobody else was involved.

Mrs Sempey is survived by her husband James, daughter Margaret-Ann and son Michael.

Her family is originally from Greenisland in Co Antrim.

East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson said: "They are a well-respected family in Greenisland and well-known in the community. I would like to pass on my deepest sympathy to the whole family for their very sad loss."

Mid and East Antrim Mayor Paul Reid added: "I was deeply saddened to hear of this tragedy. I extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to this woman's family and friends. They are in our thoughts and prayers at this awful time."
