Tributes to dad Terry Telford killed in accident on Belfast Road
Tributes have been paid to a Co Antrim businessman who died following an accident at the side of the road on Saturday morning.
Terry Telford, aged in his 40s, was working at the side of his lorry when the incident occurred on Belfast Road near Nutts Corner.
The father-of-two, who ran a car recovery business, has been hailed by a close friend as a "larger than life" character who "made even the dullest moments worthwhile".
"Every time I was ever out in your company was always an adventure," they added on social media.
"[Terry was] always happy to help and always laughing, even at 2am. "Nothing was ever too much hassle for the big man.
"Behind everything, and probably most importantly, Terry was a fantastic father to his three boys.
"He fought hard for them and did right by them as any man could.
"I'm 100% sure his children are extremely proud of the man they had the pleasure of calling dad."
A post on Marsden Recovery Specialists Facebook page said the victim was highly regarded by everyone within the industry.
"We would like to extend our condolences and prayers to the Telford family circle," it added.
Police have confirmed that officials from the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Councillor Thomas Burns said the exact details of his death are not yet clear as he offered his condolences to the Telford family who he said will be left wrestling with unanswered questions.
"No one knows why he stopped, why he got out or what went wrong," Mr Burns said.
"My thoughts are very much with the family and friends of this man following this terrible tragedy."
