Trio accused of Catholic teen murder bid

Three men have been remanded in custody charged with the attempted murder of a Catholic teenager in Antrim.

The men appeared before Coleraine Magistrates Court yesterday accused of attacking 17-year-old Jordan Duffy, who suffered serious injuries. He is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

Police have said that they believe the motive for the attack was sectarian.

The accused, Nathan Wilson (20), of Birch Hill Meadows, Colin Kingsberry (23), from Carntall Gardens, and Kyle Green (23), from Kilgreel Road, were remanded in custody to appear back before the court at a later date.

Members of their families were in court as they were charged.

A detective constable told the court there were three witnesses to the attack, which happened on the Station Road in the town on Friday.
