Trio attacked door staff

Police are appealing for information about an incident in Belfast in which a woman and two men attacked door staff at a nightclub.

Shortly before 12.20am on Wednesday 5 January police received a report of a number of assaults at the Union Street premises.

Two women and a man, all aged in their 20s and all believed to be door staff at the club, were taken to hospital with head or facial injuries. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

Two men and a woman, all aged in their 20s, were arrested.

IIt was reported that a 'knuckle-duster' had been used by one of the assailants.

Enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident — including a motive for the assaults — are ongoing.
