Trio sought over Newry police collision

Police in Newry are hunting for three men who fled from the scene of a road collision involving a police car.

Detectives are appealing for information after the incident in the Newry Road area of Banbridge on Wednesday.

At around 5.45pm it was reported to police that a burglary was taking place in a property on the Old Newry Road. Three men were seen leaving the property in a silver Audi A3 which then collided with a police car.

Before the men made off on foot the vehicle hit another car on the Newry Road.

No police officers were injured and the driver of the second car involved suffered minor injuries. Nothing was reported stolen during the burglary.

The males are described as being aged in their 20s and were wearing casual clothing.
