Troubles writer 'will go to jail' to protect sources

A former IRA volunteer-turned-writer said he would go to jail to protect his sources in the controversial Belfast Project.

Anthony McIntyre and journalist Ed Moloney are involved in legal actions to prevent the PSNI getting taped interviews they carried out with people active in the Troubles.

Mr McIntyre told the Oral History Network of Ireland conference in Ennis, Co Clare: "The researcher has to be prepared to face imprisonment other than to allow their sources be compromised."
