TV specials set to record Papal visit

Broadcasters have scheduled a number of special programmes to cover the Pope's visit.

Today from 11.30am on BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle, William Crawley will present live coverage of the start of the visit.

A BBC Newsline Special: The Papal Visit begins on BBC Two NI at 12pm, which will see Donna Traynor present a special edition of the programme.

The BBC Newsline special resumes on BBC Two NI at 7.20pm as the Pope attends the World Meeting of Families at Croke Park.

Tomorrow morning coverage begins on BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle with Sunday Sequence live from Phoenix Park from 8.30am, followed by Morning Service, broadcasting from the World Meeting of Families in Dublin, led by Father Martin Magill at 10.15am.

Tomorrow night on BBC One NI, Tara Mills presents BBC Newsline Special: The Papal Visit from 10.30pm.

UTV is hosting a special show tomorrow night at 6.15 pm which is presented by Paul Clark and Sarah Clarke.

RTE has 17 hours of live coverage, which will begin at 10am on RTE One this morning and will continue until 9pm with only a short break.

Coverage will switch to RTE2 in the evening as the Pope makes his way to Croke Park to take part in the Festival of Families.
