Two arrested after man assaulted in sword attack

Two men have been arrested after a man was injured in a Samurai sword attack on the outskirts of a Co Antrim town.
The men were arrested after the altercation in the Larne area early yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 12.20pm, police received a report that a man armed with a sword was assaulting another man on Glynn Road.
A 38-year-old man sustained a number of minor injuries to his body as a result of the assault, police said.
The suspect made off in a black car before officers arrived.
A car matching the description was stopped by police in east Belfast some time later and a 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault, theft and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
A Samurai sword was also recovered from the car.
A 27-year-old man, believed to have been the driver, was arrested on suspicion of driving when unfit through drink or drugs.
Both were in police custody yesterday.
