By Staff Reporter

Police have arrested two men after a burglary at a house in Co Tyrone.

An elderly woman contacted the PSNI to say she had disturbed a man in her kitchen at around 9.40pm on Wednesday.

PSNI Inspector Alan Smyth said: "The man fled from the house and police were alerted. Officers responded and apprehended two men aged 40 and 45 a short distance from the house."

Police urged anyone who noticed suspicious activity to contact detectives in Dungannon.

Separately, police are investigating a burglary in the Lylehill Road area of Templepatrick, Co Antrim, on Wednesday.

At approximately 11.25am two males attempted to break into a house, but were disturbed.

It is believed they fled in a black Vauxhall Insignia, which was stolen from the Cranmore Gardens of Belfast on Tuesday. The car was later found abandoned in Belfast.

Police said items may have been stolen from a garden shed.
