A man and woman were arrested after suspected drugs worth approximately £100,000 were seized in Armagh.

A quantity of suspected cannabis was discovered after police stopped and searched a car on the Moy Road area of the city on Wednesday.

A 27-year-old man was held on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Colin Patterson said: "A follow-up search at a property in the Gough Avenue area of Armagh resulted in the seizure of approximately half-a-kilogram of suspected cocaine.

"A 31-year-old female was arrested for supply offences."

The man and woman remained in custody yesterday.
