Two bookmakers held up in armed robberies

Two Belfast bookmakers were targeted in armed robberies on Saturday evening.

At about 7.25pm a masked man brandishing a firearm entered premises on the Springfield Road before making off in the direction of the Falls Road with a sum of cash.

He was said to have been wearing black gloves with writing on them, a black hooded top with light coloured lining, blue jeans, dark shoes and a beanie-style hat with grey trim.

Around 15 minutes later, a masked man who was also armed entered a bookmakers on the Falls Road before fleeing on foot with a sum of cash.

Police are investigating a link between the incidents.
