By Victoria O'Hara

Two men appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with the murder of Marc Williamson.

The 21-year-old, from Richhill, Co Armagh, died after being stabbed in Portadown on Sunday.

Denver Cardwell (26), from Hartfield Avenue, Portadown, appeared in Lisburn Magistrates Court yesterday morning charged with his murder.

David Stuart McCullough (24), from Westland Road, Portadown, also appeared in court charged with intimidation of a witness and assisting an offender.

A police officer told District Judge Rosie Watters he could connect both men to the charges.

No application for bail was made on behalf of either of the defendants who were then remanded in custody until September 9.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for the driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra to contact them.

The vehicle was parked outside a house in Drumannon Park, Portadown, at around 4.20am on Sunday, August 14. They believe the driver can assist with enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at the incident room on 02838 366366.
