Two charged with attempted murder after Newry attack

A 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Newry.

The attack took place at Cleary Crescent in Newry last Wednesday, May 29.

The 15-year-old has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a Class B controlled drug. 

The 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a Class C controlled drug. 

Both men are set to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

A 17-year-old male appeared at court in connection with the incident on Thursday, May 30, while a 29-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
