Two charged with drug-related offences after £30k of cannabis seized in Portadown

A man and a woman have been charged with various drug-related offences after £30k of cannabis was seized following the search of a car in Portadown.

Police stopped a grey coloured BMW car as it was driving along the Armagh Road in Portadown at around 1.30pm on Monday afternoon.

Whilst speaking to the driver, a smell of cannabis was noted by the officers, who proceeded to carry out a full search of the car.

Cannabis with a street value of around £30k was found in the boot of the car.

The car was seized and a number of further items were recovered in follow up searches at two houses.

A 21-year-old male has been charged with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, three counts of possession of a class B controlled drug and two counts of possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply. 

A 21-year-old female has been charged with two counts of possession of a class B controlled drug and two counts of possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply. 

They are expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
