Two held as £160k after suspected drugs seized

Two men were arrested after suspected herbal cannabis and cocaine with a street value of £160,000 was seized in Belfast.

The drugs were found in the Duncrue Street area on Wednesday evening. A search was carried out in the Eglinton area and mobile phones were seized.

Gardai searched two houses in the Donegal area and seized suspected herbal cannabis valued at £20,000, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Two men aged 28 and 31 were arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and B drugs, possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs.

Detective Inspector Tom McClure said: "I believe that this intervention has struck a blow to the activities of an organised gang involved in serious drug criminality."
