Two held over Derry shooting are released

Two men who were arrested on Tuesday for questioning about the shooting of a man in his Creggan Road home on Sunday have been released from police custody unconditionally.

The two men — aged 43 and 32 — were arrested at their homes in the Creggan area of Derry.

They were taken to the Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning about the shooting of the 22-year-old victim, who was shot several times in both legs.

The shooting was later claimed by the paramilitary group, Republican Action Against Drugs.

The same group also claimed responsibility for the shooting of a 61-year-old man who was shot outside his Ballyarnett Village home on Thursday of last week.
