Two injured in Belfast Saintfield Road 'serious' crash

Two people were injured in a "serious" crash on the Saintfield Road.

The two-vehicle crash happened close to the Knockbracken Health Care Centre Junction on Friday evening at around 6pm.

The city-bound lane was closed to traffic while motorists on the country-bound side were advised to exercise caution as they passed the incident.

Described as serious, the police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.

Firefighters used their road traffic collision cutting equipment to prise a door open to free one of the three people involved, two of which were said to be "walking wounded".

Two people were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
