Two injured in Northern Ireland plane crash
Two people were lucky to escape with their lives last night after their light aircraft came down in a field near Lough Neagh.
The crash happened on the Annaghnaboe Road near Coalisland in Co Tyrone as dusk fell.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene.
Two people on board the aircraft were treated before being transferred to Craigavon Area Hospital.
Local SDLP councillor Malachy Quinn said: "Two men were treated at the scene, but it's not thought their injuries were serious.
"They were very lucky to walk away."
The identities of the two have not been revealed, the councillor added.
"People have been very cagey about the identity of who was in the plane. Fortunately, it came down out in the country," he said.
"There were no houses near it. But it could easily have gone the other way."
