Two killed in weekend road crash tragedies

Two young men have been killed in separate road traffic collisions in Co Antrim and Co Londonderry.

Jack Duffy (19) from Ballymena was killed after he was struck by a car on the Castledawson Road in Magherafelt in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Councillor PJ McAvoy said he hoped “the circumstances surrounding the incident were thoroughly investigated”.

Elsewhere, 22-year-old Aidan Toal from north Belfast was killed in a crash on the Mallusk Road shortly before 6am.

Police said he was driving a silver Ford Focus and are appealing for the public to come forward with information regarding Mr Toal's whereabouts before the accident.
