Two men arrested after £2,500 Belfast herbal cannabis seizure

Two men have been arrested after £2,500 worth of suspected herbal cannabis was seized in Belfast.

The seizure was made after a car was stopped on the Limestone Road in the city shortly before 12.30am on Thursday.

Cash, phones, drug paraphernalia and the haul of suspected herbal cannabis was recovered from the vehicle.

Two men, aged 23 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.

The pair have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

PSNI sergeant Russell said: “These arrests and seizures are further evidence of our ongoing commitment to removing and disrupting the illegal supply of drugs in the Belfast area. We know the misery drugs can cause to individuals, their families and the wider community.

“We are committed to do all we can to remove harmful illegal drugs from the streets of Belfast. We would appeal to anyone who knows anything about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area to contact police on the non-emergency number 101."
