Two men arrested in Belfast under terrorism legislation released pending report to PPS
Two men arrested in west Belfast under terrorism legislation have been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
The suspects, aged 27 and 29, were detained in the Beechmount Close area at about 11am on Sunday.
Searches were also carried out as part of the police operation and a number of items were seized.
Detective Inspector Stuart Griffin said: "Two men, aged 27 and 29, who were arrested by detectives from PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch yesterday in the Beechmount Close area of west Belfast under the Terrorism Act, have been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service."
"A number of items, including a large quantity of ammunition, were taken away for further examination during yesterday’s searches."
