Two men charged after pipe-bomb is discovered in Lagmore area of west Belfast
Elderly residents were among around 100 people who were evacuated from their homes in the Lagmore area of west Belfast after a suspected pipe-bomb was discovered.
It was found close to a children's playpark at the White Rise in the estate at about midnight on Saturday.
Three men were later arrested. Two, aged 25 and 38, are due in court after they were were charged with possessing explosives. The third man, aged 27, was released unconditionally.
Around a dozen families who were moved during the night took shelter in Mount Eagles Community Centre.
The alert later ended and residents allowed to return to their homes and the road reopened.
Police have not commented on what was found.
Meanwhile, there was a separate alert in the Hillview Road area in north Belfast on Saturday. Police said "nothing untoward" was found.
