Two men face trial for murder
Two men have gone on trial in Craigavon accused of murdering a 20-year-old Lisburn man who was stabbed to death following a series of “threats and fights”.
The Crown Court jury heard that of the five stab wounds, only one, which penetrated Darren Roberts’ heart, proved fatal.
Denying the murder and causing an affray in the early hours of June 13, 2009, are Diarmaid Paul Anderson (21) of Creggan Road, Randalstown, and David James Curran (25) of South Link, Andersonstown.
A third man, Stephen Alister (22) from Rushmore Crescent, Lisburn, has already been jailed for life after he pleaded guilty to the murder on Monday.
The trial continues.
