Two men hospitalised after burglary at Larne flat

Two men are are being treated in hospital after being injured during a burglary at a flat in Larne.

It happened on the Victoria Road on Thursday night.

A number of masked men armed with iron bars and hammers forced their way into the property shortly before midnight and assaulted the two male occupants who were both aged in their 20s.

One of the men suffered a suspected fracture to his arm and the second man sustained head injuries.

Both men are currently in hospital receiving treatment for their injuries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Victoria Road last night or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Larne on 101 quoting reference number 3 of 17/03/17.
