Two men have been taken to hospital after a car struck pedestrians in Co Tyrone.

The Tyrone Courier is reporting that a car careened out of control in the Scotch Street area of Dungannon on Friday morning.

Police confirmed that the men, in their 30s and 50s respectively, sustained a number of injuries when a Volvo collided with a parked Volkswagen Touareg, striking both men.

“We are looking into the cause of the collision and would be keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw what happened or who may have captured dashcam footage," Sergeant David Cochrane said.

"Officers can be contacted at Dungannon police station by calling 101, quoting reference 548 03/06/19.”

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and charity air ambulance also attended the scene.

After a call at 10:36am the ambulance service dispatched two emergency crews and two rapid response paramedics.
