Two men in hospital after Newry stabbing
Two men have been taken to hospital after reports a man was stabbed in the arm during an altercation in Newry.
The incident between two men happened in the Carn View area of the city on Tuesday evening.
Police received a report at 8.20pm that a man had been stabbed in the arm.
A second man received a head injury. Both men were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Sergeant Connor said: “I am appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed the assault to contact police at Newry station on 101 quoting reference number 1832 of 25/06/19”
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
