Two men have been returned for trial on charges relating to a serious incident on the M1 last year.

Kyle McCormick from Broomhill, Antrim, and Kyle Bainbridge from Richmond Crescent, Newtownabbey, appeared at a committal hearing before Dungannon Magistrates Court yesterday.

The pair, both 20, each face separate charges in relation to the alleged incident on June 25, 2018.

McCormick is charged with perverting the course of justice by offering a woman £200 if she would tell police a trailer in a road traffic accident had stopped. It is further alleged he threatened to kill a male, both directly and through a third party.

Bainbridge is accused of two separate counts of driving dangerously.

Both men confirmed they understood the charges and neither objected to proceedings.

A lawyer appearing for the Public Prosecution Service told the court there was a case to answer, which was agreed by District Judge Peter Magill.

Judge Magill remanded McCormick and Bainbridge on £500 bail and ordered them to return for arraignment in September.
