Two men try to rob west Belfast grocery store

Two men armed with a suspected firearm tried to rob a grocery store in west Belfast.

At around 6.30am yesterday the pair approached a member of staff while he was opening up the Andersonstown Road store and demanded that he empty the safe.

Police believe they drove into the store car park in a stolen blue Toyota Yaris.

They were told the safe couldn't be opened so they left, taking a handbag from a member of staff and stealing a red Nissan Qashqai to make their getaway.
