Two people in critical condition after two car crash in south Belfast

The crash happened on the Annadale Embankment on Friday afternoon.

A road crash in south Belfast has left two people in critical condition in hospital.

The collision between a silver coloured jeep and a yellow Renault saloon happened on the Annadale Embankment at around 3pm on Friday.

A man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, are currently in hospital where their condition is described as critical.

Two others were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The Annadale Embankment has been closed in both directions at Annadale Flats.

Motorists should avoid the area if possible.

Inspector King said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either car in the area at the time to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Antrim Police Station on the non emergency number 101."
