Two teenagers struck by car in Newtownabbey

Two teenagers have been struck by a car in Newtownabbey this morning.

The two girls aged 14 and 16-years-old were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car was also taken to hospital.

The accident happened on the Doagh Road close to the Bridge Road in Co Antrim just before 9am.

The road was closed at its junction with the Bridge Road following the incident and diversions were put in place.

It has since been re-opened.
