Two women have been assaulted outside a house on Willow Avenue in Seymour Hill in Dunmurry in an incident on Tuesday afternoon.

The assault, which was carried out by two men and two women, was filmed and shared widely on social media.

The footage has been removed as the police carry out their investigation.

The attackers made off in a BMW following the assault, which took place at around 3pm.

"As a result of a prompt police response and assistance from the community, three people have subsequently been arrested and are currently assisting with enquiries," said Sergeant Caughey.

A man, aged 32, has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and riotous behaviour.  A woman, aged 24, has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and riotous behaviour. 

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and riotous behaviour.

Sergeant Caughey continued: "Our enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1092 of 03/09/19.

"Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
