Two women have been threatened by a man armed with a knife during an incident in Lurgan on Saturday.

The man in his 20s has been arrested by police, who confirmed he remains in custody at this time.

The women were approached by the man in the Monbrief Walk area of the town at around 5.30pm.

The man threatened the women with the weapon and demanded they hand over their car keys.

One of the women suffered minor injuries during the incident.

PSNI Inspector Kerr said: “Police responded after a report of two females had been approached by a man who is alleged to have produced a large knife and demanded their car keys.

“One of the women sustained minor injuries.
