A man has been arrested after an unoccupied parked car rolled into a woman and toddler.

The two-year-old child is in a critical condition in hospital after the incident on the outskirts of Belfast on Saturday.

The car, which was parked on the Comber Road in Dundonald, struck the woman and child, who was in a buggy, at around 4pm.

The woman was treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The arrested man was later released on bail pending further police inquiries.

Police have urged witnesses to contact them.
