Ulster narrowly lose at home to Scarlets 20-21

The Ulstermen fought until the final whistle but victory was not to be theirs on Sunday.

Ulster has narrowly lost their Pro12 clash with Scarlets.

Winger Craig Gilroy had fans at the Kingspan stadium in south Belfast cheering in the first half scoring a superb individual try, putting Ulster into the lead with 17-15 at the interval.

But two Aled Thomas penalties secured victory for the visitors.

The defeat is a setback for Ulster who slip to fourth and below Scarlets in the Pro12 standings.

The Welsh side are now level on points with Leinster, and two behind leaders Connacht.
