Ulster red wine sales soar due to longer life claims

Northern Ireland's consumption of red wine might soar following news of its anti-aging properties.

An ingredient in red wine may contain a certain elixir of drugs with work in tandem to keep us more youthful, according to scientists.

A compound in red wine, known as resveratrol, is thought to increase lifespan by working with a gene called SIRT1.

New research on mice, reported in the journal Cell Metabolism has offered a 'definitive evidence' of a link, according to the Daily Mirror.
