Ulster Rugby heroes of the past were on hand in Eason in Belfast's Donegall Place last night at the launch of a new book to mark the 20-year anniversary of the province winning the Heineken Cup.

Simon Mason, who led the entire competition in scoring during that magical season, was the main attraction having flown in from Liverpool to offer his support, with coach Harry Williams and other members of the squad also on hand.

The former stars of the side reminisced about their unforgettable triumph, when a total of 49,000 people watched them defeat Colomiers at Lansdowne Road in Dublin and become the first Irish side to be crowned the best team in Europe.

The Last Amateurs, written by The Belfast Telegraph's rugby correspondent Jonathan Bradley, is published by Blackstaff Press and available now from all good booksellers.
